Regularly changed filters are crucial for the water quality and service life of your osmosis system. The pre-filters are changed approximately every 6 to 12 months, depending on water quality, and the membrane is also changed approximately every 12 to 24 months, likewise depending on water quality.
Why changing the filter is important
The pre-filters retain particles, chlorine, and taste-impairing substances, thereby protecting the sensitive membrane. If they are exhausted, their effectiveness decreases and the membrane is subjected to greater stress. The result: the water tastes less fresh, performance drops, and the membrane must be replaced sooner.
When is it time for new filters?
- By interval: Pre-filters approximately every 6 to 12 months, the membrane or the all-in-one filter of the INFINITY PRO approximately every 12 to 24 months – depending on water quality. Sooner if the water is hard or heavily contaminated. Note the date of the last change.
- In case of noticeable changes: The water flows more slowly, tastes different, or the system runs longer than usual.
- After a long break: If the system has been idle for several weeks, for example after a vacation, flush it thoroughly and check the condition of the filters.
How to change the filters
- Switch off the system or disconnect it from the power supply and, for under-sink units, turn off the water supply.
- Remove the old filter according to the instructions. A cloth underneath will catch residual water.
- Insert the new original filter until it audibly clicks into place or is firmly seated.
- Turn on the water supply, switch on the system, and check for leaks.
- Do not drink the first filtered water; instead, flush it out as described in the instructions.
